halloween in the making...

Our Halloween festivities went into full swing late Thursday night...

First off, some candy...

A good movie (Cars) to entertain the pumpkin carvers...More candy...
Sharp knives help the process...Plenty of flirting...

Digging out pumpkin guts (notice the slime on her arm?)...
Mmmm....
The first masterpiece is accomplished, Meghan's cat she named "Spooks"...The interesting and rather pretty innards of our ghost pumpkin...
Meghan's choice accomplishments...My ugly pumpkin, who's eyes were supposed to lead trick-or-treaters to our door...
More candy!
Then came the costume preparation. If one is to look like Clark Kent, one must have darker hair and be clean shaven-- believe it or not, that is me...Pumpkins on display... notice our fake Wal-Mart cat (Zeeb Two) next to Spooks...
They looked pretty sharp all lit up, leading the little fairies, goblins, witches, pirates, ghosts, and ghouls down to our door...Alas, after all that, not a single trick-or-treater came to our door...
What's a Beutler post without some food? These are our pumpkin seeds, Italian style... with Italian seasoning, plenty of olive oil, salt, pepper, and freshly-grated parmesan; all toasted to perfection...
Lois and Clark, off to their Halloween party!
