12 months and 19 days (tuesday september 14)

Emory weighed in at 20 pounds, 1 ounce
and measured 30 1/4 inches tall,
getting taller and thinner all the time

and one day later, the little man has taken his first real crawling steps, though he's so close to walking on his own that it won't be long before he ditches his knees completely for his feet. after all, he crawled about 2 paces forward and then got into gorilla position before crashing onto his chest and face.

accomplishments to date:
*has 6 teeth, 3 on top and 3 on bottom, lopsided
*screeches a perfected pterodactyl noise
*obsesses over animals, mostly Paisley and other cats and dogs
*loves watching out the window from standing on the couch
*no longer sits still
*turns most small, round things into buttons
*can identify cats, dogs, noses, and eyes in pictures and in person
*claps for himself and says "ayyyyy" ("yay")
*finds entertainment in things that open and close or turn on and off
*throws mini-tantrums when he doesn't get his way
*points to what he desires
*reads with me, animating the stories with his hands
*sports a mullet these days (we just can't cut it yet!)
*loves to make people laugh (in WA, he started fake sneezing for our reactions)
*talks only on his terms

plus, he's handsome

  2. Oh! He's so cute! He looks less like a baby and like a little man. I still want to kiss his chubby cheeks.

  3. Just came across your blog, and oh my goodness, your little one is making my biological clock SPEED UP LIKE CRAZY. So, so cute! I loved reading all the tidbits about his life! I used to nanny, and the 'ayyyyyyyyy' reminds me of a boy I took care of. :) So sweet.
