discover moab: beutler family trip May 12-14, 2010: day 2

Our second day we decided to spend the entire day at Arches National Park. We researched a bit before we left and decided on a few hikes we wanted to do throughout the day.

the start of our first hike: Landscape Arch, with a couple side trips to other arches on the way

playing in the car during a bathroom break

the hike just before reaching Delicate Arch

it was a hard hike, but so worth the views

eventually, Emory got antsy and threw his sucky in the fishbowl to leave his mark

these two ravens made noise and love under the shadow of Delicate Arch... with all the tourists there to see

another arch with a peek-a-boo view. I'm pretty sure I saw where the sucky landed in the fishbowl from this vantage point

potholes along the slick-rock trail

on the way down, seeing the trail we conquered going up and the amazing views of the park

petroglyphs, left by the Ute tribe sometime between 1650 and 1850

the little man was thrilled after the hike, and after we saw the rock we scaled from a distance, we felt pretty thrilled too

  1. WOW...it's all so beautiful!! Well done on the photo documentation ;0) Now I wish that Bry and I had made time to go see all the national parks around here. Hmm, maybe someday. For now we'll enjoy them vicariously through you!
