the weekend

Our weekend was so... nice, for lack of a better word. I don't really know how else to adequately describe it so succinctly. The three of us started the weekend on Friday by going to Seattle together. We don't do much as just us these days (we live with family for the time being), and it felt so good to spend time as our little family, doing simple things that we love. As soon as we got into the city at dusk, Emory was in awe of all the buildings and lights and people. He loved it. We took a quick trip through Ye Old Curiosity Shop and then settled into the fish bar at Ivar's for dinner. We finished off our time in the city by sharing a soft serve cone. It seems so simple, but it really set the tone for the whole weekend and left us with enjoyable memories.

Saturday we got up and headed to our friends' home to watch the first session of General Conference. We spent the rest of the day mostly relaxing, enjoying more conference and family time with only the interruption of an hour or so when I went to a zumba open house.

I don't know why I feel like Sunday was my favorite part of the weekend. Maybe it's because we spent the morning with Emory on our bed, watching conference all together, playing with cars in between and stayed in our pajamas (or at least comfortable clothes) all day. In between sessions, we went to a nearby undeveloped neighborhood and walked, talked, and played. He's such a big boy now, and it's a treat to see how much he loves our little family as well.

We ended by choosing wall colors and enjoying our newly painted exterior of our home. We are so blessed and so excited to be moving in soon. We are highly anticipating the time when our family time fills the walls of our own home.
